Detourist

I search for places others’ eyes have missed
Asking questions never asked before
Desolate places no-one’s sight has kissed
Reaching out to sceneries forevermore

Pictures of a distant nature in my brain
Images of something new and fresh
Landscapes spreading out in the pouring rain
Cloudy skies imprinted in my flesh

Charming or distorted, I find all satisfying
Meaning can be found in the meaningless
In pursuit of knowledge I’m not afraid of dying
And with time comes pleasant weariness

No need to travel far my peace to find
Tourism is all about a state of mind
